HOME OF COD CHAPARRALS BASEBALL
COD's baseball home, Chaparral Field, was renovated over the course of 2005-2006. The renovation will be completed in the spring of 2007 with dedication ceremonies to be announced.

Located east of the Physical Education Building on College Road, Chaparral Field is the newest baseball complex in the Chicagoland area.
The facility features:
- Seating for 100 spectators
- An inning-by-inning professional scoreboard
- Spacious brick dugouts with bat and helmet racks
- Two professional batting tunnels
- Dimensions of 325' down the lines, 395' to straight away center and 375' in the gaps
Recent additions to the facility include:
- Ornamental fencing enclosing the seating area
- New chain link fence enclosing the entire facility
- All-brick backstop complete with a 30-foot net
- Batter’s eye in center field
- Protective fencing in front of both dugouts
- Renovated professional grade bullpens down each foul line
- A new storage building
- Improved landscaping
- Improved irrigation system
There is ample parking just west of the field adjacent to the football stadium.
Field dimensions are 350 feet down the left and right field lines, 395 feet to straight away center field and 375 feet in the gaps.
The baseball field is part of a $2 million complex which includes a new softball stadium and football practice field as well as space for field events for the reigning NJCAA National Champion track teams.
Future plans include:
- Permanent seating
- Lights
- Concession stand
- Restrooms
- An improved storage facility
